HELLO, WE EXIST

Hello, we are the beautiful daisies that symbolize purity and innocence. Epitomizing child-like joy and playfulness, the Daisy captures the essence of spring's happy-go-lucky and forever-young attitude.

Just look at how versatile we are, coming in all vibrant colours! Find different shades of pink, orange, yellow and even the most famous white daisies!

Heartbroken Victorian young women who wished to be loved once again by their suitors began a custom using the daisy, that is still in use today. In Victorian times, a young maiden would pluck a daisy's petals one by one and sing, "He loves me, he loves me not," for each petal pulled. The last petal so plucked predicted the future of such love.

See, It's not ROSES!

Hi, we are the Daffodils. Symbolizing rebirth and new beginnings, particularly when presented in an abundant bouquet, we promise happiness and joy.

Look what elegance and sophistication we exude! Not only do we look pretty, we bring benefits to you, especially the calming and soothing effect that rejuvenates you when you are stressed out. Try Lavender essential oil or Lavender tea.
My dear Li Ting, this photo is dedicated to you! :D

They exist.
And many more.
There are thousands of species of flowers which is also part of Mother Nature.
There are many other species which are as classy and appealing as the roses (if not more.)

The appeal that I'm trying to make here is: take your eyes off the roses and acknowledge the existence of, or even better, appreciate the exquisite beauty of the other flowers. (like daisies!)
My observation, supported by a survey and many other observations of my friends, is that the masses of Singaporeans only recognize one kind of flower - The Rose
Who doesn't know that the roses are the symbol of love, affection, loyalty..etc.
And the sad thing is, nowadays the beauty of the roses is undermined by the over-commercialization of this particular species.
Admit it, those tightly-held bouquets in palms of girls and women you see on the streets, how many of them are NOT roses?

I'm definitely not saying that roses are ugly or overrated.
I like them too.
I find it interesting that different colours of roses have different meanings, especially when the arrangement of roses alters the entire meaning of the bouquet.
I'm just saying that there are more than one species of flowers that represent love, and that roses are practically overused.
Tulips are the symbol of love as well.

So guys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, don't ignore the existence of other flowers.
They are equally beautiful.

Discard originality and the cliche way of expressing your love; be creative and surprise your loved ones by giving them a different bouquet this year!
